Eccentric Lincoln Memorial Cents It is not quite clear to the staff here at the asylum as to whether this collector should be classified as eccentric or not. However, one thing is for sure - his pennies definitely are! Actually, taking a fairly common series like the Lincoln Memorial Cent and adding a twist like an off-center strike can make for a challenging collecting adventure. Thanks to the change to the “Four Lincolns” circulating commemorative reverse designs in 2009 followed by the new shield reverse in 2010 we now have a defined set to work on – 1959 thru 2008. The set contains 106 distinct date and mintmark combinations not counting the large and small date varieties of 1960 and 1982. The table below shows all the possible date, mintmark and variety combinations (111 in all) for the set. Click on any that are illustrated or in blue font for links to larger photos of the coins in the collection to date. The set now stands at 94.6% (105 of 111) complete overall, 97.2% (103 of 106) less varieties. Enjoy your browse among the eccentrics. Bonus Stuff!
