Sunoco Millennium Coin Set

Whether you were partying like it was 1999 or worrying over the potential looming Y2K computer meltdown these Sunoco promotional pieces issued at the end of the second millennium offered a distraction. Available at your local Sunoco gas retailer or from Sunoco by mail these 32mm (1.25 inch) "coins" commemorated nine major achievements of the second millennium plus one welcoming the new millennium. While the subjects chosen for the obverses are debatable they do represent a fairly good survey of progress made in America from its discovery by Christopher Columbus to man's first step on moon. The reverses share a common design distinguishable from each other only by the coin's number added at the bottom of the design.
